The mission of the Finance Department is to ensure that the City of Petersburg’s financial resources are protected through sound financial management and fiscal integrity. This includes allocating resources consistent with community goals while providing timely, accurate, and reliable information that will assist in making informed decisions for the city's benefit.
The Finance Department provides various financial services to residents, city council, and city staff. These services include accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, grants management, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and special financial analysis.
