Effective July 1, 2021, the Office of Billing and Collections is now the Department of Collections.


➤ What are the responsibilities of the Department of Collections?

The Department of Collections handles:

  • Collection of all current and delinquent revenue
  • Management of lockbox and third‑party collector contracts
  • Printing and mailing personal property and real estate bills
  • Cashiering and customer service operations
  • Utility Billing
  • Bankruptcy account management

➤ What happens if I file for bankruptcy?

Customers who file bankruptcy— including those with an active utility account—will receive a certified notice.
A new utility service must be established within 20 days, and a 25% deposit may be required.
