City of Petersburg Government Offices 

Closed Wednesday, July 4th

 

Petersburg, Va:  City government offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Closed offices include: City Hall, City Hall Annex, Parks & Leisure Services, Petersburg Public Library, and Petersburg Freedom Support Center.

Offices will reopen during normal business hours on Thursday, July 5, 2018.  

Dogwood Trace Golf Course will remain open during normal business hours on July 4th.

Petersburg Area Transit Administrative offices and bus service (including Para-Transit) will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th. Bus service will resume on Thursday, July 5th.

A cooling station will be open at Petersburg Area Transit on July 4th from 8:00am – 6:30pm. Bottled water will be available, however, food will not be provided. Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed.

Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) residential recycling and trash collections will be delayed one-day Wednesday, July 4th through Friday, July 6th.  No collections will be made on Wednesday; all collections will occur the day following the normal collection day. Friday collections will occur on Saturday.
