[ARCHIVED] City to Host The 4th Annual Petersburg Half Marathon and 5K Road Race April 21, 2018

April 21, 2018Petersburg, Virginia: April19, 2016 – The City will host the 4th Annual Petersburg Half Marathon (13.1
miles), 5K (3.1 miles) and Kid’s Run beginning at the Union Train Station onApril 21, 2018. The scenic course will feature views of Old Towne Petersburg,
the Petersburg National Battlefield, Blandford Cemetery and Pocahontas Island.The course will also feature battle reenactments. The half marathon will begin at 7 a.m., the
5K at 7:30 a.m., and the Kids fun run at 10:30 a.m. For more information,please visit www.RunPetersburg.com.
The Following Road Closures are Scheduled From 6am-11:00am
The following Petersburg Transit Routes will be affected between 7:00AM-1:00PM. Riders should expect a 20-30 minute delay in service.
• Washington Street Route
• Blandford Route
• 460 County Route
• South Crater Road Route
• South Park Mall Route
Buy, Shop and Eat Local
All businesses within the route of the race will keep regular business hours unless otherwise noted.
The River Street Market will be open to registered vendors and shoppers. Please pay close
attention to directional signs for the River Street Market. Feel free to use Grove Avenue, make a left on
Pike Street and then a right on River Street to gain access to the River Street Market location.
Traveling, Viewing, Assisting
Please use caution when traveling throughout the City. If you would like to view the race, we encourage you to stay off the course and join us near the Union Train Station.
