[ARCHIVED] City of Petersburg Offices Closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday

City government offices, including City Hall and the City Hall Annex will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Offices will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, November 30. Petersburg Public Library and the Animal Care and Control office will also be closed on Thursday and Friday. The Library will reopen on Saturday at 9 a.m. and Animal Control will reopen for their regular hours on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Petersburg Freedom Support Center will be closing at noon on Wednesday, November 25 and will be closed on Thursday and Friday. They will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, November 30. Petersburg Area Transit administrative offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. There will be no transit service on Thanksgiving Day.

Parks and Leisure Services (PPLS) main office will also be closed on Thursday and Friday. In addition, the PPLS Let’s Move After School program and Living Life Like Its Golden senior program will not operate on Wednesday, November 25 through Friday, November 27. All programs will resume on Monday, November 30 at its regular scheduled times.

Dogwood Trace Golf Course will have the following holiday schedule:
Wednesday, November 25: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday, November 26: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Friday, November 27, Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, November 29: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Petersburg Museums will only be closed on Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving. Facilities will reopen on Friday, November 27 and will remain open for the weekend. Visitor’s Centers, including Carson, open at 9 a.m. and museums open at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Siege Museum remains closed for renovations.

Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) residential recycling and trash collections will be delayed one day in observance of Thanksgiving Day There will be no collections on Thanksgiving Day. Thursday trash collection services will take place on Friday, November 27. Friday trash collection services will take place on Saturday, November 28.
