[ARCHIVED] Department of Public Utility Will Be Conducting Smoke Test

The Public Utility Division will be conducting smoke testing of sewer lines in your area from Wednesday July 15, 2015 to Friday July 17, 2015. In order to determine the source of fresh water infiltrating into the city sewer system. Areas affected will be Bear Alley / Pelham St., Cockade Alley, Bollingbrook St. from 3rd St. to Sycamore, and River St. from 3rd St. to Rock St.

Smoke may appear in your home through plumbing fixtures. This smoke is non-toxic and you should not be alarmed. If smoke appears in your home and you cannot determine that it is coming through a plumbing fixture, call 911 immediately to report smoke in your home.
