The City of Petersburg’s government offices, including City Hall, the City Hall Annex and the Petersburg Freedom Support Center, will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Offices will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, July 6.
Friday’s closings also include Petersburg Area Transit. There will be no buses running and the administrative offices will be closed. Petersburg Public Library, Parks and Leisure Service and Animal Care and Control offices will also be closed. All of these will be closed Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5 and will reopen on Monday, July 6.
The Farmer Street pool will operate on Friday, July 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, July 4 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Dogwood Trace Golf Course will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4. The Petersburg Farmer’s Market will also operate from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 4.
Petersburg Museums and Visitor Centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 and on Sunday, July 5 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Visitor’s Centers will open at 9 a.m.
Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) residential recycling and trash collections will continue as regularly scheduled on Friday, July 3. There will be no delay for residential collection service on Friday, July 3. Petersburg residential trash customers should place trash carts out on the regularly schedule day.
