[ARCHIVED] City of Petersburg Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Lee-Jackson Holiday Closings

City government offices, including City Hall, the City Hall Annex and the Petersburg Freedom Support Center, will be closed on Thursday, January 15, 2015 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday. Offices will reopen at normal business hours on Friday, January 16, 2015. City offices will also be closed on Monday, January 19, 2015 in observance of Lee-Jackson Day.

Thursday and Monday’s closings include Parks and Leisure Services programs and activities and the Petersburg Public Library.

The City of Petersburg Museums and Visitor Centers will be open on Thursday, January 15 with normal winter hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), but will be closed on Monday, January 19.

Dogwood Trace Golf Course will operate normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Petersburg Area Transit (PAT) will also operate on a normal schedule.

Central Virginia Waste Management Authority CVWMA curbside recycling collection and trash collections will continue as regularly scheduled for the holidays. There will be no holiday delay for residential recycling on Friday, January 16 or Monday, January 19. Residential recycling collections on Friday, January 16 and the week of January 19-23 will take place on normal collection day. Residents should place recycling container(s) out for pick-up by 7 a.m. on their regular scheduled collection day.
