As the City prepares for the major winter storm forecast for this weekend, and as we experience extremely cold temperatures, we'd like to share some tips and important information for citizens regarding the possibility of frozen pipes in homes.
Please see the graphic below, and if you wish to explore the topic in more detail, please read the following advice from the American Red Cross: Preventing and Thawing Frozen Pipes

Stay Safe and Off the Roads
The City urges residents to stay off the roads during snow and sleet. Reduced traffic allows road crews to treat and clear streets more effectively. Residents are encouraged to use off-street parking to help snowplows operate more efficiently.
Reporting Issues
Report poor road conditions or fallen trees blocking roads to the Petersburg Bureau of Police NON-EMERGENCY LINE at (804) 732-4222.
Report power outages to Dominion Energy at 1-866-366-4357.
For emergencies, always call 911.
