With temperatures falling, the City of Petersburg’s Comfort Station is now open through the end of winter. The Petersburg Transit Station, located at 100 West
Washington Street, serves as the City’s Comfort Station for city residents and is open from 6 am to 7 pm, Monday through Saturday. The Transit Center is warm, and restroom facilities and water are available.
Food and pets (except service animals) are not allowed. The doors to the Transit Center will be open off Washington Street (Greyhound entrance). Union Street and the main Washington Street doors are closed.
City residents can ride the bus to the Transit Center for free, relax and stay warm, then return home on the bus.
Visitors to the Comfort Station should wear masks if not feeling well.
The City also asks residents to check on their neighbors, especially senior citizens and people with health problems, during the cold weather. For emergencies, please call 911.
