In observance of Labor Day, City government offices, including City Hall and the City Hall Annex building, will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2014. City offices will reopen at regular business hours on Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
Monday’s Labor Day closings also include the Petersburg Public Library and all Department of Parks and Leisure Service community centers. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday.
The Farmer Street Pool will be open from Noon to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 30 through Monday, September 1 over the holiday weekend. Dogwood Trace Golf Course will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
Central Virginia Waste Management Authority curbside recycling and trash collections will be delayed as well. No collection will be made on Monday; thus all collections during this week will occur on the day following the normal collection day. Friday collections will occur on Saturday.
The City of Petersburg Museums are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Farmer's Bank Visitor Center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, September 1. The museums are closed on Sunday. The museums are free to City residents.
The Visitor Centers will be open this weekend and on Monday, September 1. Old Towne Visitor Center will be open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 31 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Carson Visitor Center will be open Monday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
