The City will conduct Hydrant Flushing and Inspections this week. The hydrant flushing program is used to maintain chlorine residuals and minimize water age (the length of time from production to consumption).
As high temperatures continue, it’s important to flush and inspect hydrants as water storage tanks can become susceptible to having the residual chlorine from the treatment process dissipate.
Hydrant flushing may result in temporary low pressure and discolored water. Residents with inquiries or concerns should call 804-733-2356.
