[ARCHIVED] Petersburg 1,000 Pound Challenge
The City of Petersburg is proud to announce the first-ever Petersburg 1,000 Pound Challenge!
This challenge is the perfect way to kick start your healthy lifestyle. Whether you're looking for the motivation to get started or searching for a new challenge in your fitness journey, the Petersburg 1,000 Pound Challenge is for YOU.
Running from October 6th - November 5th, the ultimate winner of this challenge is the group or individual who sheds the most pounds; groups final weigh-ins will be based on the average of total pounds lost. A winner will also be selected for the participant who earns the most points during the challenge.

A FREE YMCA MEMBERSHIP is offered for the duration of the challenge for those who sign-up during the registration period. This offer does not apply to current YMCA members.
Registration has now been EXTENDED and is available through October 9th. Click HERE to Register
Registration can also be completed at any of the weigh-in sites. If participating in a group, groups must have at least 10 members and there is no maximum for group members.
The initial weigh-in must take place between September 29th - October 9th.
Weigh-ins can be done at the Petersburg YMCA, Petersburg Public Library, Southside Physicians Network - Surgery, or Virginia State University Wellness Center (For VSU Participants Only).
During the initial weigh-in, participants will be given a passport book or instructions on downloading the YMCA App; these are necessary for tracking pounds and points.
The Final Weigh-in must take place between November 6th-8th and the final weigh-in site must be the same as the initial weigh-in site.
