Due to severe weather, the City of Petersburg Government Offices, all Courts, the Clerk of Court, and the Commonwealth Attorney's Office will close at 12:30 pm on Monday, December 8, 2025. The winter storm forecast predicts a steady increase in snow in the City. Essential personnel will continue to work as scheduled.
Petersburg Public Works and the Utilities Storm Response Team are treating roads and will continue doing so throughout the winter storm. Police and Fire are also monitoring road conditions.
At this time, Petersburg Area Transit will continue to operate on regular schedules.
The Ward 4 meeting planned for tonight at the Library has been cancelled and will be rescheduled.
The City asks citizens to stay off the roads. With less traffic, road crews can better cover the streets. Residents are also asked to use off-street parking when available.
Citizens should report poor road conditions or fallen trees blocking roads to the Petersburg Bureau of Police NON-EMERGENCY LINE at (804) 732-4222. Any power outages should be reported to Dominion Energy at 1-866-366-4357. As always, in an emergency, call 911.
Petersburg will post updated information on the City website @ www.petersburg-va.org,
Facebook @cityofpetersburgva and the Petersburg Police app.
