TECHNICAL ISSUE: Virginia Sun Bucks Benefits
On Friday, July 18, the statewide issuance of Sun Bucks, the federally funded Summer Nutrition Supplement for children, began. Overnight, the state’s EBT system experienced technical difficulties that impacted the issuance of benefits for approximately 68,000 individuals across Virginia. We are aware that some households did not receive their Virginia Sun Bucks benefits as scheduled.
Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) technical teams are working diligently to resolve this issue and to ensure that all eligible recipients receive their benefits as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
Please note: July 18 is the earliest date benefits can be issued to Sun Bucks and SNAP EBT cards. Benefits will continue to issue on a rolling basis, so households may receive their Sun Bucks cards at different times.
